FCC Commissioner Michael O’Rielly spoke to the Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Emergency Number Association in September. During his remarks, he outlined this importance of the development of AWARN and its capabilities to improve the overall emergency notification system in times of need.
“I am interested to see what the market tests show and whether broadcasters ultimately decide to go down this route,” said O’Rielly. “It would be prudent for you to follow AWARN’s development.”
